The article says, “…Joining hands to demand taxes on Wall Street to create jobs repairing bridges and other infrastructure
“The Greenfield Bridge is in such bad repair that it has catch pans under it to capture falling debris. As several hundred protestors surged across the bridge – including construction workers bearing tools and equipment – a large ‘Good Jobs Now’ banner was displayed for drivers on Interstate 376.”
For info about the taxes on Main Street (The claim of “taxes on Wall Street” is misdirection.) these folks demand, please read my critique of “Banksters: You Made the Mess? Pay Up!”
This piece omitted a few things. First, the Greenfield Bridge is already scheduled to be torn down and replaced starting in 2014. Second, the City of Pittsburgh owns the Greenfield Bridge, not the Commonwealth or the feds. Therefore, even if the bogus taxes on Main Street were enacted, the Greenfield Bridge should not be eligible for any of that money from our paychecks. Finally, leftists like those shown on the bridge have been running Pittsburgh since 1934.
