INSTANT ANALYSIS: My Two Cents; Carl Davidson; Facebook; December 6, 2015.

You can learn more about BCR’s leftster management here.  “Leftster” is the combination of leftist and gangster, inspired by the left-originated “bankster.”

For your education and entertainment.  I feel lazy so my comments below mostly cover only things I’ve previously researched.  As always, be sure to check the speech text before you accept as fact anything KD claims the President said.

Carl Davidson (KD): “INSTANT ANALYSIS: MY TWO CENTS. President Obama’s short Oval Office address to the American people tonight, Dec 6, 2015, provided a alternate pole to the fascist hysteria being whipped up in the GOP 2016 race.

“But it still fell short of telling the wider truths required to deal with critical issues abroad and their murderous reflection at home, especially in the wake of the San Bernardino massacre.

“Part of the problem is that no major political leader is likely to get beyond the constraints imposed by Empire and the need to protect it. And a good number Americans of the sort who attend Trump rallies really can’t handle wider truths.”

[RWC] Given KD’s strained relationship with the truth – wider or not, “Where we prefer truths over stories?”  Seriously?  Presenting the truth to a leftist is like waving a cross in the face of a vampire; he cowers or bursts into flame.  You can find several examples here.

“Here’s one way to get into it. Obama suggested the terrorism being deployed by ISIL was a spreading cancer with no immediate cure. Fair enough, but if we are to find a cure, don’t we also have to talk about the carcinogens that give birth to the cancer in the first place?

“In the case of ISIL, we have a fairly clear idea of what the carcinogen was: the Bush-Cheney NeoCon scheme to re-arrange the Middle East by invading Iraq and smashing the regime of Saddam Hussein, a ‘shock and awe’ fiasco that left somewhere between 100,000 to 200,000 innocent Iraqi men, women and children dead and the lives of countless others thrown into chaos of sectarian civil war.”

[RWC] Lefties like to claim the Bush administration is to blame for ISIS, but here’s what VP Joe Biden said about Iraq on February 10, 2010: “I am very optimistic about -- about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You’re going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You’re going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government.

“I spent -- I’ve been there 17 times now. I go about every two months -- three months. I know every one of the major players in all of the segments of that society. It’s impressed me. I’ve been impressed how they have been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences.”

Oops.

If you want to get into the blame game, we can place it at the feet of the Obama administration and his followers.  There’s a reason we kept combat troops in Europe and Japan at the end of World War II and in South Korea after the signing of the Korean War armistice.  Lefties like to claim imperialism was the reason, but the real reason was to make sure Red China and the USSR didn’t gobble up countries weakened by war and to prevent problems like we see with ISIS.

“Americans appear truly baffled about why a small number of Muslim-Americans, living middle class lives, could ‘self-radicalize.’ In fact, too many of us are blind to the fact that when we kill Muslims in the Middle East, there are other Muslims everywhere who care about these victims, victims who may even be relatives or friends, not simply co-religionists. Nearly all Muslims here were horrified by the 3000 killed by bin Laden’s Saudi gangs on 9/11. They might even understand a desire for revenge, ie, taking out bin Laden and his crew and a circle around him.”

[RWC] In case you missed it, KD just told us all Muslims we kill in the Middle East are “victims.”

Yeah, I’m not buying “Nearly all Muslims here were horrified by the 3000 killed by bin Laden’s Saudi gangs on 9/11.”

“But where does it stop? Iraq and Iran and now Syria had nothing to do with 9/11, and we are still killing many besides Jihadis as ‘collateral damage.’ And now Senator Cruz is calling for ‘carpet bombing’ and ‘making the sand glow,’ the threat of nuclear weapons, and he gets away with it.”

[RWC] Lefties like to claim otherwise, but no one in the Bush administration claimed Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

Note KD assesses no blame on “Jihadis” for using real victims as human shields.  The claim “we are still killing many besides Jihadis” appears to run counter to a previous KD comment saying “Obama is criticized when US planes return with their bombs still loaded, because they couldn’t get a target without ‘unacceptable levels’ of innocent deaths.”

“If you want to know where the carcinogen is that causes the cancer, there it is. And if you want to stop the cancer from spreading, stop spreading the carcinogens for starters.

“Obama correctly termed ISIL a death cult that was a perversion of Islam (by a small minority of Salafists who find even the feudal fascist Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia too liberal, although he didn’t go into that aspect of it, perhaps constrained by the long US alliance with the Saudi princes.) Contrary to the GOP right and even Hillary, he strongly indicated that the vast majority of the 1.2 billion Muslims in this world had a powerful role to play, especially ideologically, in deconstructing the deadly poison of theocratic fascism with an Islamic mask.”

[RWC] For whatever reason, KD is on a crusade to convince us the bad guys are “a small minority of Salafists” who are a small minority of Muslims worldwide.  You can find a complete thread here.  Though KD didn’t mention a figure in that exchange, in a more recent Facebook post he now claims “the Salaafist jihadi sect that is represented the core of ISIS, viewed most widely, is .05% of the 1.2 Billion Muslims in the Islamic world” but doesn’t cite his source.  I did a lot of searching but found nothing to validate his assertion.  The closest I got was “of the entire Muslim population, Salafi’s comprise less than 1% of them” at The Canadian Society of Muslims.  I have no clue if either figure is anywhere near true, but the range they define is from 600,000 to 12 million.  Even if you like 0.05%, 600,000 is still a pretty big number.

“But there is a larger, and often untold, truth even here. There were once powerful left and progressive forces within the Islamic world that could have prevented the cults of death from even arising in the first place. But our Cold War CIA spent decades in assisting their slaughter by Arab reaction.”

[RWC] Sure.  Who were these “powerful left and progressive forces?”

“We sow the wind, over and over. And when we reap the whirlwind, we pretend not to know where it came from. It’s past time to set aside illusions. Given the fascist rise in our politics, we are in for some very difficult battles.”

[RWC] Blah, blah, blah.
