HOW TRUMP’S CANDIDACY WAS CREATED; Carl Davidson; Facebook; June 6, 2016.

You can learn more about BCR’s leftster management here.  “Leftster” is the combination of leftist and gangster, inspired by the left-originated “bankster.”

They know they can’t win if they don’t lie #14. (links to the other episodes in this series)

If you believe them, lefties have been “licking their chops” over Donald Trump’s (DT) candidacy.  If so, why attack DT with lies?  Is it out of habit?

On his Facebook page, Carl Davidson (KD) of Beaver County Reds (BCR) wrote, “HOW TRUMP’S CANDIDACY WAS CREATED. It started with Reagan, in modern times, in this photo. It’s one where you could claim that ‘the dog that didn’t bark’ was the clue. Reagan here was opening his 1980 presidential campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where three civil rights workers had been slain sixteen years earlier. Reagan didn’t mention them in any way, but the ‘dog whistle’ message got through. It was a signal that racialized a growing bloc of voters in the GOP, pulling many of them from George Wallace and the old segregationist Democrats, in addition to those in their own base. It grew over the years. Trump didn’t create it. He simply decide to do away with the ‘dog whistle’ and speak to the racism of this bloc overtly. The result was that they enabled him to take the leading position in the party. Whether there are enough ‘racialized’ voters in the country as a whole to get Trump 270+ Electoral College votes rermains to be seen.”

KD and I had a decent discussion thread on this topic during October 2014.  I recommend you read that thread for detailed info.  If you’re pressed for time, however, my comments below should suffice.

KD’s back to claiming Ronald Reagan (RR) opened “his 1980 presidential campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi.”  In the aforementioned thread, KD conceded RR opened his 1980 presidential campaign in New York City on 11/13/79, not at the Neshoba County Fair on 8/3/80.  The speech to which KD refers was about two weeks after RR’s nomination at the Republican National Convention.

KD wants us to believe Democrats who switched parties were racists and the “good” Democrats stayed Democrats.  Since Republicans were historically and are currently stronger on civil rights than Democrats, why on Earth would segregationist Democrats think the Republican Party would take up their racist policies?

For the sake of argument, let’s say Republican candidates somehow courted racist Democrats with “code words”/“dog whistles” and had success.  Other than stabbing their former politicians in the back, what did racist Democrat voters gain?  Did the Republican Party reverse course and take up any policy that was remotely racist?  No.  Did Republicans oppose any policy supported by Democrats that truly helped minorities?  No.

KD’s story also doesn’t explain Republicans Lynn Swann (candidate for PA governor in 2006), Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (FL), Michael Steele (former Maryland Lt. Gov. and Republican National Committee chairman), former Ohio Sec. of State Ken Blackwell, former U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts (OK), former U.S. Rep. Allen West (FL), U.S. Rep. Mia Love (UT), and so on.

If racist Democrats became Republicans in hopes of furthering racist policies, the strategy was and remains a horrible failure for them.

Finally, KD’s “racializing” comments would be funny if the subject weren’t serious.  KD’s #1 kneejerk reaction to just about anything he doesn’t like is to claim racism.  On the other hand, KD and his fellow travelers choose to ignore the true racism in their policies.
