“A TURNING POINT. I hope everyone knows what this means. We now have the task of educating the electorate of the difference between fascism and the US Constitution, and as good citizens, they would do well to do something about it. ‘Clear and present danger’ is a good description of our situation.”
KD’s referring to a Huffington Post (HP) piece entitled “Giuliani: Trump Could Have Shot Comey And Still Couldn’t Be Indicted For It - Congress would have to impeach Trump first before any criminal prosecution could move forward, the president’s lawyer says.”
“Truthseeker” (KD’s description, not mine) KD and his fellow-travelers want us to believe Rudy Giuliani claimed President Trump could not be tried for murder. For that to happen, KD needs his followers to read no further than the implicative/suggestive portion (“Giuliani: Trump Could Have Shot Comey …”) of the piece’s combination title.
Here’s what KD doesn’t want you to read.
According to the subject HP article, “Giuliani said impeachment was the initial remedy for a president’s illegal behavior - even in the extreme hypothetical case of Trump having shot former FBI Director James Comey to end the Russia investigation rather than just firing him.
“‘If he shot James Comey, he’d be impeached the next day,’ Giuliani said. ‘Impeach him, and then you can do whatever you want to do to him.’”
Though the “Trump Could Have Shot Comey …” diversion wasn’t in his “Meet the Press” interview earlier in the day, RG’s comments on the underlying topic were consistent with those in the HP article.
