KD wrote, “THIS IS WHY WE USE THE TERM ‘CLIMATE CHANGE’ over global warming. The average temp is rising, but one manifestation is very FREAKY weather events.”
[RWC] Not true. Predictions weren’t going the way folks like KD wanted. For example, manmade global warming (MGW) believers immediately claimed the 2005 hurricane season would be the “new normal.” That didn’t happen; not even close. Then, when a few MGW events had the bad luck of colder-than-usual venues, something needed to be done to stop the embarrassment. Thus was born “freaky weather” and the ability to claim any “unusual” weather is indicative of manmade global warming. Here you can find how NASA distinguishes between the two.
Unfortunately for MGW believers, “climate change” isn’t working either. In this post’s discussion thread, the head (Tina Shannon) of the local chapter of Progressive Democrats of America local announced she “switched to using climate catastrophe or climate emergency.” It’s now at the point where no matter what the climate and/or weather is today, it’s indicative of MGW.
