KD wrote, “TRUMP SUSPENDS FIRST AMENDMENT? I CAN TELL YOU THIS, MR. TRUMP. Within the bounds of the laws of libel and the high bar of ‘fire in a crowded theater,’ I’ll say anything I damn please in this country, and I’d like to see you try to do something to stop it. I’m both a socialist and an American who defends our Bill of Rights, not a wannabe tinpot fascist dictator looking to redefine us in ways that would make Mussolini blush.”
[RWC] What a hoot! I’m quite sure President Trump is quaking in his boots.
“If you read the subject article, “Trump says he doesn’t care if attacks on ‘Squad’ hurt him politically,” you’ll see President Trump (DT) didn’t say anything about suspending the First Amendment.
“According to The Hill, ‘President Trump on Friday dug in on his strategy of attacking four progressive minority congresswomen despite some backlash from within his own party, saying he doesn’t care how it affects him politically.
“‘I don’t know if it’s good or bad politically. I don’t care,’ Trump told reporters of his attack against the group of Democratic lawmakers, known as the ‘Squad,’ as he departed the White House for a weekend in New Jersey.
“‘Many people say it’s good. I don’t know if it’s good or bad,’ he continued. ‘I can tell you this: You can’t talk that way about our country. Not when I’m the president.’
“Trump acknowledged that the Democratic lawmakers he has targeted have First Amendment rights, but maintained he also has the right to voice his displeasure.”
KD mentioned Mussolini but omitted Hitler, Fidel Castro, Mao, Stalin, and others I probably forgot. When KD claims he’s “both a socialist and an American who defends our Bill of Rights,” keep in mind our Bill of Rights is the antithesis of communism, socialism, and so on.
