Beaver County Reds Treasurer Supports Repeal of Income Tax, Medicare; Randolph Shannon; Facebook; September 24, 2013.

Mr. Shannon is treasurer of Beaver County Reds; his life partner is chairperson/president.  You can learn more about BCR’s leftster management here.  “Leftster” is the combination of leftist and gangster, inspired by the left-originated “bankster.”

Okay, the title is not true, but it’s eye catching.

On his Facebook page, Mr. Shannon quoted his comrade, Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff, from a speech she gave at the UN: “In the absence of the right to privacy, there can be no true freedom of expression and opinion, and therefore no effective democracy.  In the absence of the respect for sovereignty, there is no basis for the relationship among nations.”  Comrade Rouseff was whining about the NSA allegedly spying on Brazil.

If you knew nothing of Mr. Shannon, you might think he really cared about privacy.  You would be mostly wrong.  To have any credibility on the privacy issue, Mr. Shannon and like-minded individuals need to convince us they want to see income taxes eliminated and they oppose socialized healthcare.  Why?  What greater invasion of privacy is there than the financial “full body cavity search” we go through every year when we must detail every aspect of our finances for multiple levels of government (income taxes, property taxes, etc.)?  Perhaps the only greater invasion of privacy may be the access to our healthcare records required by socialized healthcare programs like Medicaid, Medicare, SCHIP, et cetera.  I have yet to see Mr. Shannon oppose any big government program.

Going on a slight detour for a second, I wonder if Mr. Shannon knows Miss Rouseff is anti-abortion and opposes same-sex marriage.  Don’t those positions make Miss Rouseff a hater, guilty of a war on women, and void her positions on everything?

In Peace, Friendship, Community, Cooperation, and Solidarity. <g>
