Sorry state; Editorial; Beaver County Times; June 30, 2004.

It would be a waste of time to do a detailed critique of this editorial because it's just another piece bashing the Bush administration about Iraq.  As did many anti-Bush outlets, the Times editorial board tried to detract from the story of Iraq's new sovereignty.  It stoops to name-calling and actually uses opinion pieces from other newspapers as support.

The fact that the United States gave its word to the Iraqi people and made good on that promise was good news.  But in the eyes of the Times, good news for Iraq and the United States is bad news for liberals.  Hence the attempt to turn good news into bad.

About the only statement in the editorial I agree with is "turn a deaf ear to ... attempts to rewrite history."  If only the Times would follow its own advice.
