Scare tactic; Editorial; Beaver County Times; October 7, 2004.

The editorial correctly noted Democrats were pushing the draft rumor to scare people into voting for John Kerry.  What the editorial failed to mention was that Democrats in Congress were the original source of the rumor.  Two draft/national service bills were introduced on January 7, 2003, as a political stunt.  All sponsors were Democrats.  When Republicans called the Democrat bluff, even the primary bill sponsors voted against the bills.  See Draft Fear for a more detailed discussion of this myth.
