Below is a detailed critique of the subject editorial.

“When you vote on Tuesday, you will be asked the following:

“‘Do you favor authorizing the Commonwealth to borrow up to $625,000,000, for the maintenance and protection of the environment, open space and farmland preservation, watershed protection, abandoned mine reclamation, acid mine drainage remediation and other environmental initiatives?’

“While the way in which the measure would be paid off remains to be determined, it should not undermine the overall good it would do.

“Please vote in favor of this issue, otherwise known as Growing Greener II.”

[RWC] Everyone needs to reread the penultimate sentence.  It says, even though we don’t know how to pay for it, vote for nearly 2/3’s of a billion dollars of spending anyway because of “the overall good it will do.”  Don’t liberals always say this about their programs?

If you didn’t know how you were going to pay for something for your house, would you go ahead and buy it anyway?
