In trying to explain why “[m]ore children are moving back home after graduation from college,” the editorial opined “[o]ne reason is the tight job market.”

That’s hogwash!  Check the Bureau of Labor Statistics website and you find the current unemployment rate (5.0% as of April) is below the average for the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and Clinton administration, and has been since 2004.

With few exceptions, if you’re a college graduate and you can’t get a job in this economy, you’re looking in the wrong place and/or you got a degree in a field with low demand.  You’re supposed to think about the economic value of your degree before you choose a major, not after you graduate.
