The editorial says, “That means we’re not going to get a reprieve from incessant campaign commercials from the two presidential candidates, the Democratic and Republican parties and those shadowy special-interest groups that promote one candidate or the other under the guise of educating us about issues.”

Here’s how that sentence would have read had the author been honest. “That means we’re not going to get a reprieve from incessant campaign commercials from the two presidential candidates, the Democratic and Republican parties and those Times editorials that promote Barack “Jimmy Carter” Obama under the guise of educating us about issues.”
