A warning; Editorial; Beaver County Times; July 25, 2008.

This editorial warns us that cell phones may be hazardous to our health.  You may recall this allegation pops up every few years or so.  To support the position, the editorial says, “So argues Dr. Ronald Herberman, the director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and UPMC Cancer Centers.  For that reason, Herberman decided to warn some 3,000 faculty and staff about the possible health risks associated with cell phone use, especially as it relates to exposure to electromagnetic fields emitted by these devices.”

What the editorial fails to note is that to date, all published studies conducted to determine if cell phone use is a health hazard showed no such risk.  There’s a Q&A on this topic on the National Cancer Institute website.  Why did the Times withhold this info from its editorial?
