The editorial tells us Pittsburgh “has created the full-time position of bicycle and pedestrian coordinator” and obviously believes this is a good thing. Remember, this is the same newspaper that cries crocodile tears about government profligacy. This is simply the latest example showing the Times tries to have it both ways, “complaining” about profligacy while looking approvingly on just about every new piece of spending.

Lest we forget, Pittsburgh has been a fiscal mess for years and remains under state financial oversight after more than four years. Adding such a ridiculous position shows Pittsburgh – and the Times – still doesn’t get it.
