The editorial subtitle is “Rejection of fees leaves state with few funding options.”

A current theme with Times editorials, the “solution” to the problem is increased taxation via tolls or other means. This despite the fact the average family eventually turns over nearly 33% of its income to all levels of government (This is near the all time high of 34% in 2000.). It’s odd how spending cuts in other areas never appear to be considered.
