BCT Editorial – 10/2/08

Sound investment; Editorial; Beaver County Times; October 2, 2008.

The editorial subtitle is “State voters must approve borrowing for sewer, water systems.”

This editorial is just one more example of the Times “Jekyll & Hyde” behavior when it comes to borrowing and spending.  For every editorial like “Taxing the future” that talks about the failure of “government and American people to live within their means,” we get at least one editorial like this one telling us we need to borrow and spend even more.  You’ll note the editorial doesn’t even mention the possibility of reducing spending elsewhere to fund the “investment.”

Remember, we get this BS despite the fact today’s average family eventually turns over nearly 33% of its income to all levels of government (This is near the all time high of 34% in 2000.).
