Gee, what a surprise. Other than when crying crocodile tears for partisan political purposes, when hasn’t the Times endorsed more spending?

Why should commonwealth taxpayers foot the bill for local responsibilities? In case you missed it, this additional $400 billion dollars would bring the total debt on state taxpayers for this stuff to $1.2 trillion.
