BCT Editorial – 1/16/09

Raze the roof; Editorial; Beaver County Times; January 16, 2009.

The editorial subtitle is “Municipalities need more federal aid to get rid of blighted buildings.”

I have two points.

First, why should federal or state taxpayers pay for local responsibilities?

Second, isn’t this the same newspaper that’s always crying crocodile tears about federal government profligacy? Apparently it’s profligacy only when the money is spent on things the Times doesn’t like and/or is spent by the wrong politician. Yet again the Times has proven its alleged concern about government spending is deceiving, at best.
