Buckle up; Editorial; Beaver County Times; March 20, 2009.

Why must leftists constantly try to control more and more of our lives?  In case you’ve lost track, Times editorials lobby in favor of smoking bans on private property, use of cell phones on airplanes, et cetera.  In the interest of disclosure, I always use my seat belt and always have.  Personally, I believe you’re nuts not to.  That said, I oppose government telling us we must use seat belts.  A possible exception is requiring children to use seat belts.

What’s even cheesier about this editorial is the plea to go along with the law because it will result in more federal tax dollars going to the state.  How about this; why not get the feds out of the seat belt monitoring business and let state taxpayers determine how much we pay the state?
