A big gulp; Editorial; Beaver County Times; March 25, 2009.

The editorial subtitle is “Congressional watchdog pours cold water on Obama’s budget plan.”

Had this been George Bush’s budget, the subtitle would likely have read something like “Congressional watchdog sheds light on Bush’s profligacy.”

For most of my comments on this editorial, please read my critique of “Move it along.”

In summary, how can you honestly complain about excessive spending when you more lobby for more spending on just about every proposal that comes down the pike? In this editorial, the laundry list includes “implementing health-care reform, improving education and breaking our dependence on imported oil and developing a clean-energy economy, as Obama has proposed.” Of course, it wouldn’t occur to leftists that addressing these issues properly actually requires a lot less government spending, not more.
