BCT Editorial – 9/20/09

Candid cameras; Editorial; Beaver County Times; September 20, 2009.

Other than the story it’s written around (Michael Phelps then, ACORN now), this editorial is a regurgitation of “Little privacy from February 10, 2009.”  As a result, most of the comments in my critique of that editorial apply here as well.

Another disturbing piece of this editorial is the following: “That’s something ACORN staffers in several cities failed to grasp as they were caught giving advice to clients on how to get around the law.  Unfortunately for them and their organization, they didn’t realize that the young woman and young man who were posing as a prostitute and her pimp were freelancers with a hidden camera and microphone and a Web site.  (See the following editorial.)”  English is my first and only language and the way I read this is the Times is admonishing ACORN for not being more careful in its dirty dealings.  I’d like to hope either the author is a poor writer or I’m a poor reader.
