When it comes to energy sources currently practical and economically viable to provide the huge amount of energy we require, such as coal, hydro, oil, natural gas, and nuclear, are all unacceptable to the left.  Here’s a prediction I’ve made before.  As soon as what we today call an “alternative energy source” becomes practical and economically viable enough to provide large amounts of energy, the left will find a reason we shouldn’t use it.

Once again we have the Times accusing anyone with the nerve to disagree with its position of using “scare tactics.”  That said, the Times should be qualified to identify “scare tactics” since they form the basis of most Times advocacy editorials.  Here’s an example of the “scare tactics” the editorial is talking about: “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”  Oops, sorry, that was Barack Obama speaking to the San Francisco Chronicle on January 17, 2008.

For most of my comments on this topic, please read my paper entitled “Manmade Global Warming.”
