“Addiction does not lend itself to long-term thinking. Like all junkies, all state officials are concerned is to feed their habit - right now.” The Times must believe we have short or nonexistent memories. This is the same “newspaper” that supports just about every government spending program that comes down the pike and consistently supports new and/or increased taxes. You probably recall recurring topics of Times editorials are the assertion our taxes aren’t high and the implication we’re selfish for not wanting tax increases. The only exception I recall is when it comes to so-called business taxes that may directly affect Times operations. Why can’t the Times recognize it too is a junkie, or is it just much easier to work both sides of the street and point a finger at others?
