BCT Editorial – 2/11/10

Two-faced; Editorial; Beaver County Times; February 11, 2010.

The only “logic” apparent in this editorial is the Times tradition of bashing Republicans.  The editorial asserts you can’t criticize Mr. Obama’s “deficit spending” because some of that “federal economic stimulus money” bailed out the Pennsylvania budget.  If you do criticize, the editorial claims you are a “two-faced political opportunist.”  Is part of the editorial missing?  I think both the commonwealth and federal governments spend too much and always have, and I believe every level of government should be self sufficient.  I guess this makes me a “two-faced political opportunist.”

By mentioning only Republicans, is the editorial implying none of the mythical “fiscally conservative” Democrats criticized the bailout?

As for “two-faced political opportunists,” let’s look at the Times and its ever-changing position on deficit spending and debt.  I documented the Times head-spinning position shifts in my critique of “Under control.”
