Nice editorial, but it omits some things.
First, the editorial doesn’t mention leftist policies and programs - which Times editorials tend to support - are at the center of our current mess. Examples are approval for just about every spending proposal that comes down the pike, loans for people who can’t afford to pay them back, Medicare, Socialist Security, et cetera.
Second, there’s no mention of the fact that the more the government confiscates in taxes, the less is available for charitable giving.
