The editorial says, “As this unfolds, don’t blame state lawmakers or your local school board members. They were dealt this hand because of a deal worked out in 2001 by then-Gov. Tom Ridge, lawmakers and the unions.” Why does the Times claim the General Assembly had nothing to do with the pension mess? Does the Times not know the General Assembly had to pass the subject laws [Act 9 (House Bill 26) and Act 38 (House Bill 27)] before Gov. Ridge signed them into law?
