“‘There’s a new voice for moderation coming from the Muslim clerical community?’”  Not exactly.  If the Times and the Washington Post had performed a couple of minutes of research, they could have reported the subject fatwa is nothing new.  The Council of Senior Ulema issued a similar ruling nearly seven years ago (“Statement by Senior Ulema Commission condemns terrorism;” August 17, 2003).  What “moderating” effect did that have?
