BCT Editorial – 8/1/10

I’m sure it was an honest oversight <g>, but the editorial neglected to mention “The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is also providing a significant economic development grant through the Redevelopment Assistant Capital Program (RACP) to help establish the incubator.”   Do the failures of the taxpayer-subsidized Lazarus and Lord & Taylor department stores in downtown Pittsburgh ring any bells?  How many times are we going to hear this editorial’s “build it and they will come” nonsense?

How about this?  Instead of bribing businesses to make decisions they would not make otherwise, why not eliminate extra-constitutional spending, the taxes that support this spending, and unnecessary regulation?  This increases liberty and liberty generates economic growth.
