Once again the Times fails to distinguish between legal immigrants and illegal aliens. Mr. Schwarzenegger is a U.S. citizen who - to the best of my knowledge - followed our immigration laws.
As for the comment “some Republicans are giving consideration to repealing the 14th Amendment,” I covered that topic in my critique of “Nothing new.” This is the second editorial in three days mentioning this issue.
The editorial concludes with “The irony is delicious.” Perhaps the Times could explain how granting additional privileges to legal immigrants who become U.S. citizens has anything to do with removing privileges from noncitizens.
