The editorial begins with “Despite pullout, U.S. troops will be in Iraq for years. The war in Iraq won’t be over until American troops are gone.”
As a reminder, as of March 2009 we still had about 170,000 troops deployed in Europe, Japan, and South Korea. The Korean War hasn’t ended (We’re only in a ceasefire.), but is the Times claiming World War II hasn’t really ended and “won’t be over until American troops are gone” from Europe and Japan?
