Past privacy; Editorial; Beaver County Times; September 7, 2010.

This is another editorial in a series (“Watch yourself,” “No privacy,” and “Little privacy” are examples.) bemoaning lack of privacy while ignoring the biggest violations of privacy.

I could be mistaken, but I don’t recall any editorials “about government sticking its nose where it doesn’t belong” regarding the financial full body cavity search we go through every year when we must detail every aspect of our finances for multiple levels of government (income taxes, property taxes, wage taxes, etc.) or the government access to our healthcare records required by government healthcare programs like Medicare.  I don’t know about you, but I’m far more concerned with the government’s organized assault on our privacy than I am the rare twisted person who gets her/his kicks from peering through a restroom peephole.
