“HARDBALL” tells us “Anti-labor forces in the Ohio Senate are playing hardball, and not just with unions representing the state’s 350,000 public employees, including university employees, firefighters and police officers.”  As I noted in a critique of a recent editorial on this subject, FDR (32nd U.S. President and patron saint of lefties) and George Meany (first president of the AFL-CIO, 1955-1979) both opposed public sector labor unions.  Who would have guessed Messrs. Meany and Roosevelt were “anti-labor?”

On the topic of “playing hardball,” I’ve yet to see the Times comment on the propriety of Indiana and Wisconsin Democrat state representatives and senators fleeing to Illinois to prohibit their legislatures from voting on bills the fleebaggers oppose.
