With “DISTANT RELATIONS” the Times is still wound up about spending cuts in Gov. Tom Corbett’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2012.
The editorial concludes with “Penn State isn’t alone. Pitt and Temple are in the same position. All three are fast becoming state-related in name only.” At least the Times finally figured out these schools (plus Lincoln University) are “state-related” schools, not “state” schools as asserted in “Quick hits/DOUBLE STANDARD.” Lincoln, Pitt, and, Temple were private universities until the 1960s/70s. Why should they not become private schools again?
