After you read the subject editorial, did you note who/what was not mentioned? After telling us “Don’t put all the blame on oil companies or agri-businesses. McClatchy Newspapers reports rampant speculation in gasoline and food prices is what’s fueling increases,” the editorial never mentioned the effect of the dropping value of the dollar fueled by the Fed printing money (aka “quantitative easing”) and a policy of discouraging production and use of “ungreen” domestic sources of energy. The editorial also didn’t mention the effect of diverting corn production from food to ethanol via government subsidies. In fairness to the BCT, neither did the article used as the basis of the editorial.
