Delusional farce; Editorial; Beaver County Times; July 14, 2011.

I haven’t kept track of how many editorials we’ve seen about our alleged “obesity epidemic,” but it appears the BCT may have moved its obesity jihad into #1 position over its smoking-on-private-property jihad (at least 57 editorials).  Why?  The BCT is 1) laying the foundation for more government control over our behavior and 2) laying the foundation for blaming you and me when Obamacare melts down, as is Medicare.

Both of these editorials appear to confirm a BCT style decision to treat “revenue” as a synonym for “taxes.”  It may go back further, but I first noted this example of BCT leftyspeak in my critique of “Closing tax loopholes.”  I really need to get on the distribution list for the lefty style guide. <g>

Finally, did you note the problem with the pro-tax BCT likening our deficit/debt problem with “lifestyle obesity?”  As you know, BCT editorials favor tax rate increases over spending cuts when it comes to deficits and debt.  The BCT apparently doesn’t get that’s the equivalent of telling a person with “lifestyle obesity” he will become less obese by eating more.  Let’s hope the BCT editorial board stays out of the treatment of alcoholism, diabetes, drug addiction, et cetera.
