BCT Editorial – 7/20/11

This page was last updated on July 20, 2011.

A happy place; Editorial; Beaver County Times; July 20, 2011.

Remember the BCT editorials about “brain freezes” by then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) saying “I’ve now been in fifty … seven states?  I think one left to go.  One left to go.”, by President Obama saying he presented a Medal of Honor to a live recipient when Mr. Obama really presented that specific award posthumously, and by then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) telling a wheelchair-bound campaign rally attendee, “Stand up, Chuck?”  Neither did I, and a search of BCT editorials found none.

Is the BCT reduced to dedicating editorials to brain freezes?  Since we’re now bashing brain freezes, someone should tell the BCT “freshman” should have been spelled “freshmen” in its quote of the Washington Post article.  FYI, the original Washington Post article had the correct spelling.  Following the example set by this editorial, “If ignorance is bliss, the BCT must be one of the happiest places on Earth.”

Finally, it appears the editorial is based on a single source.  I found no mention of this faux pas in any stories not based on the Washington Post article.
