More common sense sought; Matt Bedekovich; Beaver County Times; August 23, 2012.  This letter was entitled “Common sense, please” in the print edition of the BCT.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“After reading the article ‘Corbett aide rebukes Justice Dept. over voter ID,’ I was amazed at the level of hypocrisy and dishonesty rampant among the politicians controlling this state.

“The administration’s remarks that the Justice Department’s investigations are ‘politically motivated’ stunned me.  The law itself is undeniably, and admittedly, politically motivated.

“I was hoping the courts in the state would recognize the blatant voter suppression taking place, but they failed to do so.  I can only hope the federal government is wiser (read: has more common sense) than to allow this law to continue its asinine existence.”

[RWC] Leftist darling former-President Jimmy Carter supports a photo ID for voting.

Last summer, Rhode Island passed a law requiring a photo ID to vote.  RI voters reliably vote Democrat and Democrats hold overwhelming majorities in both houses of the General Assembly.  The governor is an independent, a former U.S. Senate RINO with high ADA Liberal Quotients.
