Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“My question is simple. Who has been more destructive to America? King George Bush or Osama bin Laden?”

[RWC] By the time you get to the end of this rant, you find Mr. Beougher holds Osama bin Laden in higher regard than President Bush.

“Our once proud, strong military is now a mere broken shadow of what it once was; the strongest economy in the world is nearing complete collapse; personal savings accounts and retirement accounts that have lost most of their value have left millions of our elderly in fear of what tomorrow might bring.”

[RWC] Is this the “mere broken shadow” that continues to turn over territory in Iraq to the Iraqis because of their success? Is this the “mere broken shadow” that continues to meet or exceed its recruiting goals.

“The strongest economy in the world is nearing complete collapse?” I’m sure Mr. Beougher would like this to be true, or at least he wants us to believe it’s true. Besides, haven’t guys like Mr. Beougher been claiming we’ve been living in the equivalent of the Great Depression for nearly eight years?

I live off my “personal savings accounts and retirement accounts” and I’m in no trouble.

“Homeless families are turning up at more and more tent cities across our once great nation. A second Great Depression is on the horizon.”

[RWC] “More and more tent cities across our once great nation?” I haven’t seen one yet. Where are they?

“There’s no end in sight to the crushing of our mighty Constitution. King Bush has decided that Posse Comitatus, habeas corpus, torture, illegal detention, etc., are all simply footnotes for him and his administration to just erase at will.

“The list is simply too long to go on. King George has by far done more damage to this country in the last seven years than any one man might have done on one day, and yet this mystery man has never been caught, and I’m not personally convinced that we are even actively hunting this boogeyman anymore.

“Whenever this administration decides to engage in some mischief nationally or worldwide, out comes the high quality video of a man in a cave.

“Anyone with high-speed Internet who is interested, please Google ‘Katrina gun confiscation.’ It can also be found on YouTube. So if destructive actions toward the United States equal terrorism, who is the real terrorist?”

[RWC] Mr. Beougher does realize the police and National Guard operate under the orders of state and local authorities, right? Both the governor of Louisiana and the mayor of New Orleans were Democrats.
