Bush is a warmonger; John J. Cousins, III; Beaver County Times; October 7, 2004.

This is little more than a name-calling exercise by Mr. Cousins.  When he doesn’t call President Bush names, Mr. Cousins merely makes accusations disproved many times before.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“George Bush has to be stopped.  He is running a campaign of fear.

“This idea of his that if you aren’t with us you are against us gives us the idea that we are un-American.”

[RWC] Mr. Cousins makes a lame attempt to distort President Bush’s words and intent.  Here is what President Bush said in a speech to a joint session of Congress and the American people on September 20, 2001.  “Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make.  Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.  From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.”

“I am an American, and I strongly disagree with Bush.

“This ‘monster’ has to be stopped this Election Day or he will have our men and women fighting in Iran, Syria and North Korea.  He is a warmonger on an ego trip.”

[RWC] Just out of curiosity, if President Bush is a monster, what are Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, Kim Jong Il, et cetera?

“He has done nothing but lie to the American public and our allies from day one.  He says only what he wants to say, and it is clearly far from the truth.

[RWC] What are the lies?  Please provide the proof.

“He wouldn’t know the truth if it stared him in the face.  Please, for the sake of our country and our sons and daughters, stop him!”

[RWC] Though Mr. Cousins ceaselessly bashes President Bush, he provides no alternative.
