Disillusioned with both parties; Carl J. Dennis; Beaver County Times; September 16, 2007.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Whether it makes one iota of difference to the local, state or federal politicians, I have changed my voter registration to ‘No Party Affiliation.’”

[RWC] By his action, Mr. Dennis eliminated his ability to vote in primary elections.  That means Mr. Dennis has no vote when it comes to determining general election candidates.

“I am totally disillusioned with both parties.  The Republicans want to hand over the United States lock, stock and barrel to Mexico, and the Democrats are doing everything in their power to surrender the United States to a group of fanatics that commits genocide in the name of their God.”

[RWC] If Mr. Dennis is “totally disillusioned with both parties,” he should try being a conservative.

As much as I believe Republicans as a group have abandoned far too many conservative principles, I believe it’s unfair to assert “The Republicans want to hand over the United States lock, stock and barrel to Mexico.”  As a reminder, it was House Republicans last year that killed the so-called “comprehensive immigration” bill favored by President Bush and too many Senate Republicans.

“As we all know, handing the United States over to the Chinese was the work of a previous two-term president who looked the other way for the benefit of corporations and their insatiable greed.”

[RWC] “[C]orporations and their insatiable greed?”  Where do folks like Mr. Dennis come up with this stuff?

“As a legal American citizen, tell me why I would want to be associated with either of these two political parties?  What have they done for the United States lately?  Nothing.

“The two-party system is no longer effective.  It does not serve the best interest of the American people.

“Hear ye, hear ye, from now on if you want my vote, keep your promises and serve the United States, not other nations or fanatics who want to destroy our lifestyle and our culture.”
