Just like old times; Linda Eldridge; Beaver County Times; November 16, 2006.

In her letter of June 27, 2006, Ms. Eldridge told us people who oppose same-sex “marriage” are homophobes.

Below is a detailed critique of the letter.

“Bring it and they will come.

“What a sight to behold this past weekend at Northern Lights shopping center in Economy.  The parking lots were overflowing, and the few businesses remaining welcomed the crowds and enjoyed the benefits of increased revenue.

“The Greater Pittsburgh Arts and Crafts Holiday Spectacular was being held in the former Ames building, and it brought the masses.

“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if someone - anyone - realized what bringing in an anchor retailer would do for this area.  I for one am hoping that the powers-that-be do realize it and that they take the necessary measures to make it happen as soon as possible.”

[RWC] By “powers-that-be,” it’s probably safe to assume Ms. Eldridge is referring to government officials.

If Northern Lights were such a great place for what Ms. Eldridge refers to as an “anchor retailer,” retailers like J.C. Penney, K-mart, Sears, et cetera would not have left over the years.
