Gun rights in U.S. are not unlimited; Jana Finder; Beaver County Times; September 12, 2008.

The Times failed to note Ms. Finder is an employee of CeaseFire PA.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Kudos to Tuesday’s editorial for reminding us that our Second Amendment rights are not absolute and that with all rights come responsibilities.

“As the Supreme Court held in District of Columbia v. Heller, the Second Amendment is not unlimited and ‘is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.’”

[RWC] Is that supposed to be news?  Ms. Finder just set up a straw man to attack.

“The Supreme Court further acknowledged the reasonableness of laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places.”

[RWC] Again, is that supposed to be news?

“Any suggestion that a rally of a presidential candidate (previously the target of death threats) would not be considered a ‘sensitive place’ is simply ludicrous.”

[RWC] Mr. Noble didn’t attend the rally and never attempted to gain entry.
