Cindy Freed – 4/27/05

Don’t buy Santorum’s con job; Cindy Freed; Beaver County Times; April 27, 2005.

Below is a detailed critique of the letter.

“What an interesting coincidence that U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum finds time to write a lengthy letter to a local newspaper (‘Santorum backs veterans,’ Friday).”

[RWC] What coincidence?  The letter was a direct response to a Dushan Yanich letter bashing Santorum’s position regarding veterans.  The letter to which Ms. Freed referred isn’t on the Times website.  If I recall correctly, though, it was written by one of Mr. Santorum’s staff members, not Mr. Santorum himself as Ms. Freed claims.  It doesn’t matter who wrote it, though.

“Don’t be fooled by a cleverly disguised, self-serving pitch for re-election.  His allegiances, personal ambition, insensitivity to the taxpayers and choice to live outside Pennsylvania are all well-documented.  Vote him out.”

[RWC] Don’t be fooled by blind partisanship, either.

If the allegations are “well-documented,” why didn’t Ms. Freed list them and tell us what Mr. Santorum did wrong?

The “live outside Pennsylvania” gripe is lame.  See this previous critique for more on the topic.
