Below is a detailed critique of the letter.

“I have a lot of compassion for Terri Schiavo and her family.

“However, I have a big problem with the political involvement. Politicians just have no business in it. They need to know where and when to draw the line. It really irks me.”

[RWC] If Ms. Gardner hadn’t previously written a Bush-bashing letter, I might have taken her seriously on this subject.

I could be wrong, but I suspect we would not have seen a letter like this from Ms. Gardner if the primary actors in the “political involvement” had been liberals.
