I think it’s fair to say the Times got the title of this letter wrong.  This is Mr. Grey’s second letter since September 19^th.

The gist of the letter is that the NRA supports only Republicans.  Mr. Grey wants us to believe the NRA will not support pro-gun Democrats but will support anti-gun Republicans.

A quick trip to the NRA election web site shows Mr. Grey’s premise to be false.  While Republicans as a group tend to be more sympathetic to Second Amendment issues because of underlying political beliefs, the NRA “report card” gives good grades to Democrats who agree with the NRA on gun issues and bad grades to Republicans who disagree.
