Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“I am writing to give my praise and thanks to state Sen. Gerald LaValle and his wonderful staff.

“They have always gone above and beyond to help me, my family and friends. It feels good to know we all have these great people to help us. They are all great, and God bless LaValle and his staff.”

[RWC] I have three comments.

First, notice Ms. Holbrook never told us what Mr. LaValle and his staff did that was so wonderful.

Second, in my entire life I’ve never gone to any representative, senator, et cetera for help. Getting back to comment #1, what do people go to these guys for that would have a profound impact on their lives?

Third, the cynic forces me to remind Ms. Holbrook that Sen. LaValle isn’t up for reelection until 2008.
