Out of Iraq by next summer; Ed Hum; Beaver County Times; August 28, 2005.

This is at least the 7th anti-Bush/anti-Republican letter from Mr. Hum since July 2004.  As usual he claims to be a Republican, though I have my doubts.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Some general says we might be in Iraq until 2009.

“Fellow Republicans, the troops will be out of Iraq by next summer.  You can bet on that.  Not everyone will come statewide [sic].  Some will be offered jobs in the professional security services in Iraq, which number in thousands already, and will accept.  They might as well make hundreds of tax-free dollars a day working for Halliburton instead of peanuts as a dogface.  President George might even hire some Hessians as King George did in 1776.”

[RWC] Wow!  It’s been awhile since anyone’s used the Halliburton talking point.  Mr. Hum must be hard up for material.

“However, all uniformed troops will be out of Iraq by next summer.  Oh, oh.  Wait a minute.  They may have to rotate home through Afghanistan, but they will be out of Iraq.  Maybe President George will send the Hessians to Afghanistan.”

[RWC] I have to admit I don’t know the point of this letter.
