It’s your choice; Stephen F. “The Onion” Kislock, III; Beaver County Times; January 31, 2013.

Most of Mr. Kislock’s 69+ letters over the last eight years have been Republican-bashing exercises, though he sometimes goes after Democrats for his pet causes.  Sometime during 2009 Mr. Kislock became an in-house commentator for Beaver County RedsPlease follow this link to learn more about Beaver County Reds.  You may also remember Mr. Kislock appears to believe “The Onion” is a real news source.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“They went to school and never came home.”

[RWC] Read this letter carefully and see if you can figure out what’s missing.

“An act of senseless gun violence at Sandy Hook Elementary School took the live [sic] of 20 first-graders and six teachers.”

[RWC] Before he proceeded to the school, the killer also murdered his mother as she slept.

“These precious lives, destroyed why?

“A military-style semi-automatic assault rifle and one shooter, then there was mass killings at Sandy Hook.”

[RWC] How does Mr. Kislock define “a military-style semi-automatic assault rifle?”

“How badly were the victims bodies mutilated, for each victim was shot multiple times at close range?

“America and its Second Amendment has led to so many senseless killings, it just boggles my mind.”

[RWC] An admirer of Hugo Chavez, Mr. Kislock’s “America and its Second Amendment” comment is consistent with the U.S.-bashing he used to do on a now-defunct Venezuela news website (VHeadline.com).  Here’s more about the Second Amendment and our right to bear arms.

“I was once told by a gun lover that these mass killings are the price for the Second Amendment, and to get used to it!”

[RWC] Forgive me for not believing Mr. Kislock.

“Sandy Hook Elementary School, Dec. 14, 2012, was a Pearl Harbor to many thinking Americans.  We just cannot have these massacres and do nothing.

“The president has taken the lead, and we must support him, or have more Sandy Hooks.  It’s your choice.”

[RWC] By now you probably figured out Mr. Kislock failed to mention the killer who allegedly had mental-health problems.  The firearms didn’t drive themselves to the school, walk themselves in, and pull their triggers.  Rather than focus on keeping firearms out of the hands of nuts, Mr. Kislock wants to focus on keeping firearms out of the hands of the other 99.99999%.  Take the firearms and the nuts will simply use other weapons.  Keep the nuts from getting access to weapons of any kind and I’m pretty sure the weapons won’t harm anyone.
