Local congressional leaders fail women; Stephen F. “The Onion” Kislock, III; Beaver County Times; July 24, 2014.

Most of Mr. Kislock’s 72+ letters over the last nine years have been Republican-bashing exercises, though he sometimes goes after Democrats for his pet causes.  Sometime during 2009 Mr. Kislock became an in-house commentator for Beaver County Reds, though it’s been some time since he’s written there.  Please follow this link to learn more about Beaver County Reds.  You may also remember Mr. Kislock appears to believe “The Onion” is a real news source.  Mr. Kislock went on hiatus between June 2013 and July 2014.  The last Kislock letter was entitled “NRA efforts support terror.”

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“Dear American Women,

“Republican United States Sen. Patrick Toomey and Republican U.S. Rep. Keith Rothfus are your new OB-GYNs.

“Please do not call them for an appointment as birth control is no longer considered as a [sic] option in these United States.

“In November, you can choose a new OB-GYN, as Republican representative Rothfus is up for re-election.

“Birth control, will you have a choice?  Your vote will determine your fate.”

[RWC] What is Mr. Kislock talking about?  You’ll find this is a straw man letter.  A straw man letter claims someone did or said something they didn’t do or say and then attacks them for it.
