The wrong place and the wrong time; Balinda Lloyd; Beaver County Times; September 12, 2008.

Below is a detailed critique of the subject letter.

“I believe that everyone who can legally own a firearm should have the right to bear arms.

“I believe that John Noble’s actions were completely inappropriate.  Why would you post the request via the Internet for people to bring their guns and their Bibles prior to the event if you were not trying to cause trouble?  How come Noble was the only one to come with his gun?”

[RWC] What’s wrong with reaching out to like-minded people via the Internet?  Trying to get attention doesn’t imply causing trouble.  That she assumes Mr. Noble was “trying to cause trouble” sounds like a bit of projection by Ms. Lloyd.

“There is a time and a place for everyone to voice their opinions, and that event was not the time or the place.  How come previous to this I have not seen him demonstrating on the streets of Beaver?”

[RWC] So if you don’t “demonstrate on the streets of Beaver,” you can’t support your cause at public events?

“There are so many questions that are unanswered.  Carry your gun, but in this day and age do not think that some people might be intimidated by your actions.”

[RWC] Sorry, but we don’t have a right to not be intimidated by someone else.  Besides, whom did Mr. Noble intimidate?  All he did was hand out fliers while legally wearing his handgun.  Oh wait, I forgot.  Mr. Noble also had a Bible.
